The wedding took place in New Zealand on Lonely Bay in Coromandel.
The newlyweds wrote to us:
Around Christmas 2015-2016 we were making our dream month-long trip around New Zealand, with departure on Sunday 13 December, and on Wednesday 9 December it occurred to us that it might be nice to try to get married there… :-). Since going through the descriptions of the legal procedures on the New Zealand ministry’s website was out of the question for us given the time, we ended up with two options – either we would “come to our senses” and give up right away, or we would call someone in to help. We googled the site www.mojecestovka.cz, which on its “weddings abroad” tab also offered the option of New Zealand. So we did not hesitate and called the number given. Originally we only wanted to find out what we would even need for it and whether it was possible at all at such short notice… I remember the few seconds of silence that followed when we answered Martina’s question “And when do you fly?” :-)))) We thought she would show us the door, saying we must have gone mad wanting to arrange a wedding in New Zealand at Christmas time and two working days before departure, but she began helping us arrange everything with full commitment. Right up to departure we practically did not know whether it would work out or not, but fortunately it all came off; she connected us with her New Zealand counterpart, who gave us the necessary instructions, helped with choosing the venue and so on. We appreciated being able to call Martina at any time, even at the weekend or during flight stopovers, to text her and settle everything – and all of that amid the pre-Christmas rush. Thanks to her too we managed to live through (for us) the wedding of our dreams, where there was hardly a living soul, on a deserted beach, where we did not have to put on any act and could be ourselves. Without Marti and her help we probably would not have managed it, and for that we thank her. (now married) Jana Meniarová and Petr John
