Wedding in Greece on Kalymnos

Kalymnos is a beautiful island with small, quiet coves. Here you will admire both sandy and pebble beaches and water that is incredibly clear and clean. The beaches here are never crowded. The island is very well suited to walks in nature. The recent history of the island began to be written by the exceptional conditions of the local mountain massif, broken up by high walls and caves that were discovered by sport climbers. From Kos the ferry journey takes about 20 minutes, or you can fly to Kalymnos from Athens.

For a long time the island was accessible only by the ferry that sailed from the neighbouring island of Kos. Since 2006, however, Kalymnos can also be reached by air, because in that year a small airport began operating here – which, incidentally, is the youngest in the whole of Greece! The runway is only a little over 1 kilometre long, so only smaller aircraft can land here.

On a standard holiday from the Czech Republic you can therefore expect the “old” route, via the airport on Kos and then a ferry crossing. Flight time from Prague: 2 hours 4 minutes. The direct distance Prague – Kos is 2,000 km. If you wanted to arrive by air, you would have to make a stopover in Athens. From there only one airline flies to Kalymnos, Sky Express, which operates ATR turboprop aircraft on the route.

The weather on the island of Kalymnos can be described very simply – a dry and hot summer, a beautiful and very pleasant spring and autumn, and a mild winter.
