The wedding ceremony took place in Cuba at the Melia Varadero hotel.
The newlyweds wrote to us:
A wedding in another country can be a difficult decision for some, with a lot of variables in the whole equation, but when you find a reliable guide, everything is child’s play. We wanted to travel around a beautiful exotic country and at the same time it was important to us that the ceremony be recognised in the Czech Republic. Cuba met both wishes and we did not regret our decision for a moment. For 14 days we travelled with a group of friends, backpacks on our backs, from west to east, and we devoted the last days to ourselves and to the honeymoon in a luxury hotel. Martina guided us through all the formalities at home and also helped us right there on location when a small miscommunication arose over the accommodation. She did not mind at all that, with the time difference, we were calling at something like midnight. Everything that could be planned from home she arranged for us absolutely smoothly; she has excellent knowledge of conditions in Cuba and of how the Czech authorities work. She advised where to obtain which documents, helped us with the authentication and the certified translation, and the small details were then settled on location with the coordinator. She speaks superb English and her organisational skills are excellent.
The premises of the Melia Varadero hotel are superb: good food but also the famous Cuban rum, willing staff and excellent themed restaurants where we had our celebratory dinners. For the ceremony we could choose any place, but the pavilion with its incredible view of the sea was the obvious choice for us. And the wedding cake? That was the best confection we had during our whole time on the island =o)
Martina deserves our great thanks; we could not have arranged a more beautiful wedding ourselves. Not to worry about anything and to enjoy every minute of your wedding – that was the greatest wedding gift we received.
